Mike and Chris

I've long been a fan of what Mike and Chris does with leather. It's always hip and eye catching with an attention to detail. And in my mind I think I should like this denim jacket... but I can't decide! The military style collar and epaulets are always a favorite, and the woven denim is a great idea, but something doesn't gel for me... a darker wash maybe? Move the weave from the yoke to the side panels? Anyway, I'll let you be the judge!

Dirty Librarian Chains for Urban Outfitters

I'm totally appreciating the accessories at Urban Outfitters right now.

This necklace by Love Lila for Round Design is almost identical to one on the Round Design site. I tried it on yesterday and it's pretty dang cute! And such a steal at the price.
And while I'm saving up for this necklace from Dirty Librarian Chains I can get this one above for a lot less! DLC had a couple really great styles including some earrings that were in the store and online.

Ssssuede

I'm kind of having a moment right now. I desire neutral colored suede flats... and literally just as the thought is growing in my mind I stumble upon The Perfect Shoe at Totokaelo.com . It's sort of sad that Rock and Republic obviously made these with me in mind, and yet failed to consider my finances when setting the price point! Someone PLEASE rip off this design pronto so I can afford them!!

These embellished flats are cute too! I like the idea of a little peplum sort of accent on a shoe. These are by Joy Chen and available on sale at Endless.com and Amazon.com

Cheap Monday
Well, it's monday, so this seemed like a fitting post. I haven't been a huge fan of Cheap Monday over all, but I'm really digging the Fall lookbook. I like the sort of elegant grunge feel. It's something that would be easy to emulate, and it has that combination of modern and vintage which is interesting to me.

Annenberg Space for Photography

We've wanted to check out the Annenberg Foundations new gallery space for photography for a few weeks now, and as luck would have it, today we were in the neighborhood! We really didn't have a lot of expectations regarding it, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the high tech space and by the quality of the photographs that were displayed. We were a little intimidated by the vast parking structure and the building in which the space is housed, but if you were thinking of going, don't let it deter you! Once you make it up to the main level it's sort of like being in the office building version of the Getty. There are eleven Los Angeles photographers on display there now, and the subject matter and style varies, but the quality is consistent. One thing that surprised both Kelly and I is that the architectural photos were some of our favorites. Maybe the high-def screens and soothing soundtrack made them stand out a little more for us. It's an interesting way to view photographs, and I think they make it work.

The Pipeline Goes Glossy

What a great idea! Refinery 29's blog The Pipeline has a new feature that talks about which 5 fashion mags they think are really worthy of purchasing every month. It's a great way to sort out what is good that month, and I think it's wonderful that a blog is giving props to the print mags (may they live forever!). Kudos guys!

French Connection

I'm really liking all of these more tailored dresses at French Connection. I'm sort of tired of the drapey, shiny sack look that has taken over the Spring collections the past few years. A nice light dress is so key, but I also want something a bit more fitted at times! And how adorable is the detailing on that second dress!
